The Pumpkin Patch
My mom and I took my son to the pumpkin patch today. It always amazes me what fun to a 2 year old. He got to go on the train and the other rides and loved picking out a pumpkin. Now he is out with his mother and cousins trick-or-treating and I had to miss because I am at home watching the Twins.

Can Singletary Save his Job
Mike Singletary took an unfortunate step today in potentially holding on to his job. Right now, my greatest fear is that he does just enough at the end of the season that the Yorks bring him back. I know it sounds crazy, but I think the Yorks are weak enough that they could be talked in to giving him another chance if he has a major comeback to end the season. That would be a horrible idea. You...

Xobni
I recently downloaded a tool called xobni for outlook. I learned about this tool through The 4-hour Workweek. I have found it to be very useful to help me locate information from my emails. It helps to identify contacts, information, files, etc. I have always had a hard time tracking down this time of information in a timely manner. Unfortunately, my company started utilizing a software called...

Rich Dad Poor Dad Review
Check out this recent review I did of the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. I think that Kiyosaki’s take on personal finance is way ahead of it’s time. Far more people should incoporate his principles. I think this combined with the 4 hour workweek provide a road map for people who want to live an independant lifestyle without the dailys stresses of a 9-5 job.

Getting Ready to Trade In My Iphone
I’m about ready to trade in my Iphone. It does a ton of things great. I can look at analytics, get my tweets, watch my videos, take pictures, etc. Unfortunately, it is a pretty crappy phone. The reception is horrible. I think I am going to have to trade it in and switch to verizon.

From The Do As I Say File
I thought it was horrid to see that google is hiding its profits overseas to avoid taxes. I thought the mangra “Don’t be evil” was directed inward. Apparently, it was only directed at the rest of us. While I am all for corporations sheltering and hiding profits under our flawed tax code, what I cannot tolerate is a company that openly promotes its leftist beliefs, but is not...

Such tough times
I had a real depressing day. All kinds of bad things have happened to people all around me. I came out of work yesterday and there was a lady holding a file box full of office stuff sitting on the lawn in front of our office building crying. I didn’t talk to her, but it sure looked like she had just been laid off. You see all of these people out of work and it just isn’t getting any...

Credit Repair Help
This is an old article, but I thought considering the economy and all those not able to pay their bills, it would be a good time for it to re-surface. It is how I repaired my credit and I think the techniques I used can work for anyone. My score stands at 810 now.

Do As I Say And Not As I Do
James Cameron’s Hypocrisy is stunning. It feels like my dad when I was growing up saying “Do as I say, not as I do”.

Politically Correctness Run Amuck
Juan Williams recent statements that he took notice when those in Muslim garb got on a plane certainly did not warrant firing him. I wish I had an example at hand, but I know in the past I have cringed when NPR correspondents have flaunted their leftist opinions. Rarely have I heard this kind of reaction from the poliburo. Unfortunately, this seems to be more a case of coming down on the wrong...

Trying to find The 4-hour Workweek
I’ve been listening to The 4-hour Workweek in the truck on the way to work. I love the concept, but I am not sure how I can sign up for a remote work agreement when I run construction projects for a living. It’s going to be tough. However, Timothy Ferriss has a lot of great ideas that you can incorporate in to your daily life to help you be more productive. I have started queing my...

Football and Concussions
I read a post today on twitter from a lady who thought that the concussions this weekend were evidence that the nfl shouldn’t go to an 18 game season. I think that is ridiculous. If that is a valid argument, then why don’t they just go to a zero game season to avoid concussions all together. Having played football for niner years, I can say that from what I have seen, concussions are...

The Forty Niners Finally Win One
I don’t know if I am relieved or not. I mean c’mon, they beat the Raiders. The chances of making the playoffs are so minute that we are really only hurting our chances at Andrew Luck. I hate to think that way, but Andrew Luck behind this offensive line with a coach like Gruden or Cowher or even Harbaugh? I feel bad for Alex, because I feel like the niners ruined his career, but at...

Listening to The Gateway Experience
I’ve been listening to The Gateway Experience for the last couple of days while I have been sleeping. I think it is a little early to talk about results, but I find the program really interesting. I am still on wave 1. I am curious to see what if I eventully remember everyting from the CDs or if it will depend on which phase of sleep I was in when I was listening to it. I can say that I...

Killers
My wife and I watched killers last night (Her choice). As usual, I enjoyed it and she didn’t. I am starting to like Ashton Kutcher as an actor. My wife only wanted to watch it because of Katherine Heigle. We went to see Life As We Know It last weekend and we both really enjoyed it. I’d have to say I thought that move was top notch. I’d recommend Life As We Know it to anyone. We...
